Why do Registry problems happen?

There are many reasons for registry problems but some of the most common ones include:
- Deleting an application without properly uninstalling it.
- Deleting files or folders that entries in the registry reference.
- Poorly written uninstall programs that do not cleanup correctly.
- Failures during program install and uninstall.
